On this two-week theatre arts residency run by Avalon International Academy, participants were introduced to a variety of traditional Balinese arts including Legong, Gambuh, Gamelan, Wayang Kulit, Kecak, and mask-painting alongside seminars and workshops in intercultural practice, yoga sessions, and sound healing. The residency also included trips to performances, ceremonies, temples and other cultural sites and events in the Ubud area. Led by UK-based theatre director Ellie Chadwick, in collaboration with local artists including I Wayan Bawa, Cok Indrayuni and Ida Bagus Anom Suryawan, this intensive experience involved cross-cultural exchange and skills-sharing, and gave participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in Balinese culture, arts, and spirituality.
